By making a booking, the first named person on the booking agrees on behalf of all persons detailed on the booking that:
– He/she has read these terms and conditions and has the authority to and does agree to be bound by them;
– He/she is over 18 years of age and where placing an order for services with age restrictions declares that he/she and all members of the party are of the appropriate age to purchase those services;
– He/she accepts financial responsibility for payment of the booking on behalf of all persons detailed on the booking.
Upon confirmation of your cruise booking, we will collect the non-refundable deposit (as shown on your booking form) from the credit card provided.
If you book after the balance due date, we will collect the full amount at the time of confirmation.
If your credit card is declined, we will attempt to hold your reservation until your payment has been completed.
Russian River Cruises: non refundable deposit = 20%
Danube and Rhine River Cruises: non refundable deposit = 20%
Croatia Cruises Deluxe: non refundable deposit = €250 p.p.
Croatia Cruises All other categories: non refundable deposit = €200 p.p.
Visa free ferry tour: non refundable deposit = 20%
All other River Cruises: non refundable deposit = 25%
Balance due dates:
Russian River Cruises: 70 days prior to departure
Ukrainian River Cruise: 70 days prior to departure
Danube and Rhine Cruises: 70 days prior to departure
Visa free ferry tour: 70 days prior to departure
Croatia Cruises: 70 days prior to departure
All other River Cruises: 120 days prior to departure
We will collect your balance on balance due date (or the closest working day before, if this is a weekend or public holiday).
If you wish to use an alternative card to pay your balance, please advise us in writing.
For bookings received after the balance due date, we will collect the full amount due from the credit card provided.
Non payment of the balance is considered as a cancellation and loss of deposit will occur.
You may pay us by using the following methods:
Debit or Credit card; we accept payment by Visa and Mastercard (no fee applies) or American Express (2% fee applies).
Our website is secure, so you can safely input your card details online.
By bank transfer:
Remitter to pay ALL charges plus a €30 admin fee.
Bank details and our address will be sent with confirmation of your booking.
If we do not receive payment, we reserve the right to cancel services.
Credit Card Security:
On the advice of our credit card authorisation company, we are occasionally required to request a signed credit card authorisation form and a photo copy of your passport for identification purposes. This measure is in place for your own security and protection against fraudulent use of credit cards.
Select Tours and Cruises (a trading name of Asla Ltd.) is a company committed to customer satisfaction and consumer financial protection. We are therefore pleased to announce that, at no extra cost to you, and in accordance with ”The Package Travel, Package Tours Regulations 1992” all passengers booking with Select Tours and Cruises are fully insured for the initial deposit and subsequently the balance of monies paid, as detailed in your booking confirmation form. The policy will also include repatriation if required, arising from the cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Asla Ltd. This insurance has been arranged with Affirma, a trading brand of MGA Cover Services Limited (registered address Farren House, The Street, Farren Court, Cowfold, West Sussex, RH 13 8BP. Company registration: 08444204 authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, registration number 678541) under a binding authority with the insurer, CBL Insurance Europe Limited (registered address 2nd Floor, 13-17 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Ireland, who are authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, registration number 203120). In the unlikely event of Insolvency you must Inform Affirma (MGA Cover Services Limited) immediately on +44 (0) 20 3540 4422. Please ensure you retain this with your booking confirmation form as evidence of cover and value. Policy exclusions: This policy will not cover any monies paid back to you by your Travel Insurance or any losses which are recoverable under another insurance or bond. This policy will also not cover any loss sustained by Passenger(s) booked on a flight-inclusive package sold and commencing within the United Kingdom. This is valid for bookings made on or after 16 March 2016.
For all bookings made before 15 March 2016 customer payments are held in a secure, protected, customer account until your booking has been completed.
This is compliant with UK package travel legislation and ensures complete peace of mind for our customers. Online payments are transacted via secure servers.
Our cruises do not include flights. If you request any domestic flights in conjunction with your cruise, we are acting as agents to the principal.
Passport, Visa and Immigration Requirements and Health Formalities
It is your responsibility to check and fulfil the passport, visa, health and immigration requirements applicable to your itinerary. Any information we supply is for guidance only for general information. You must check requirements for your own specific circumstances with the relevant Embassies and/or Consulates and your own doctor as applicable. Requirements change regularly and you must check the up to date position in good time before departure.
Most countries now require passports to be valid for at least 6 months after your return date. If your passport is in its final year, you should check with the Embassy of the country you are visiting.
If we supply a Visa support document:
You must be satisfied that all personal data and travel dates are correct.
You must ensure that all details are accurate, especially your name, passport number, date of birth and entry/exit dates.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your travel documents are correct when applying for a visa .
We are not responsible for any consequential loss resulting from errors or inaccuracies, that may result in your being refused carriage or entry.
Onward rail, air or theatre tickets (sold separately and not part of the cruise package) should be collected from the local offices.
Delivery to a central hotel in resort can be made for an additional 25 USD / 20 EUR.
International Courier deliveries will be quoted on a current fee basis.
If you or any member of your party decides to cancel your confirmed booking you must notify us in writing. All cancellations must be notified to Select-A-Cruise.com in writing and acknowledged by us to be valid. Your notice of cancellation will only take effect when it is received in writing (by email) by us at our offices and will be effective from the date on which we acknowledge receipt. Since we incur costs in cancelling your arrangements, you will have to pay the applicable cancellation charges up to the maximum shown below. The cancellation charge detailed is calculated on the basis of the total cost payable by the person(s) cancelling:
Any additional services booked in conjunction with your cruise will be subject to the same payment and cancellation terms as the cruise.

Cancellations are charged as follows:
More than 70 days prior to arrival: loss of deposit
69 to 61 days prior to arrival: 50% of total tour cost
60 to 35 days prior to arrival: 80% of total tour cost
34 days or less prior to arrival: 100% of total tour cost
Cancellation charges – Other River Cruises (Irrawaddy, Ganges, Mekong):
Cancellations are charged as follows:
121 or more days prior to arrival: loss of deposit
120 to 95 days prior to arrival: 50% of total tour cost
94 days or less prior to arrival: 100% of total tour cost
We will deduct the cancellation charge(s) from any monies you have already paid to us.
Amendments by you:
We charge an ‘Amendment Fee’ of EUR 50 per person for each detail of your booking we allow you to change.
Please note that more major changes, including but not limited to, travelling on a different date may be treated as a cancellation and incur cancellation charges.
Note: Certain arrangements may not be amended after they have been confirmed and any alteration or cancellation could incur a cancellation charge of up to 100% of that part of the arrangements in addition to the charge above. If the reason for your cancellation is covered under the terms of your insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges.
If We Change or Cancel
As we plan your arrangements many months in advance we may occasionally have to make changes or cancel your booking and we reserve the right to do so at any time.
Changes: If we make a major change to your arrangements, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible if there is time before your departure. Examples of minor changes include a change of accommodation to another of the same or higher standard.
Occasionally we may have to make a major change to your confirmed arrangements. ”Examples of “major changes” include the following, when made before departure:
- A change of accommodation area for the whole or a significant part of your time away.
- A change of accommodation to that of a lower standard or classification for the whole or a significant part of your time away.
- A change of outward departure time or overall length of your arrangements of twelve or more hours.
Cancellation: We will not cancel your travel arrangements less than 70 days before your departure date, except for reasons of force majeure or failure by you to pay the final balance.
We may cancel your arrangements before this date if, e.g., the minimum number of clients required for a particular travel arrangement is not reached.
If we have to make a major change or cancel, we will tell you as soon as possible and if there is time to do so before departure, we will offer you the choice of (for major changes):
- accepting the changed arrangements;
- having a refund of all monies paid; or
- accepting an offer of alternative travel arrangements of comparable standard from us, if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value).
You must notify us of your choice within 7 days of our offer. If you fail to do so we will assume that you have chosen to accept the change or alternative booking arrangements.
If we cancel or make a major change less than 70 days before departure, we will pay compensation as detailed below. The compensation that we offer does not exclude you from claiming more if you are entitled to do so.
More than 70 days prior to departure: Nil
69 to 61 days prior to arrival: €20
60 to 35 days prior to arrival: €30
34 days or less prior to arrival: €40
IMPORTANT NOTE: We will not pay you compensation in the following circumstances:
- where we make a minor change;
- where we make a major change or cancel your arrangements more than 70 days before departure;
- where we have to cancel your arrangements as a result of your failure to make full payment on time;
- where the change or cancellation by us arises out of alterations to the confirmed booking requested by you;
- where we are forced to cancel or change your arrangements due to Force Majeure (see Force Majeure).
Please note: where arrangements with a higher price than the original arrangements are offered by us and accepted by you, the difference in price will be deducted from any compensation payable. In no case will we pay compensation if arrangements are offered by us and accepted by you with a higher price than that originally booked in the same location where no additional payment is made by you.
If we become unable to provide a significant proportion of the services that you have booked with us after you have departed, we will make alternative arrangements for you at no extra charge and, if appropriate in all the circumstances, will pay you reasonable compensation.
Select-A-Cruise.com is able to accept online bookings up to 14 days prior to tour departure, subject to availability of the cruise, subject to full prepayment by credit card only.
You must make payment for all services that are not included in your cruise (e.g. drinks, laundry, other services) directly to the cruise ship prior to check out.
Select-A-Cruise.com cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred as a result of incorrect dates or personal data input by the customer. It is your responsibility to supply the correct dates and information for all services requested.
By consenting to our terms of booking, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age.
Passports and Visas:
You must be in possession of a valid passport and visa (if required) to join your river cruise.
This is your responsibility and you must check with your own local consulate for up to date visa requirements. If you are unable to travel due to immigration issues, your costs are not refundable.

Except where otherwise expressly stated in these booking conditions we will not be liable or pay you compensation if our contractual obligations to you are affected by any event which we or the supplier(s) of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. These events can include, but are not limited to war, threat of war, civil strife, terrorist activity and its consequences or the threat of such activity, riot, the act of any government or other national or local authority including port or river authorities, industrial dispute, lock closure, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, chemical or biological disaster and adverse weather, sea, ice and river conditions, acts of God, outbreak of hostilities, the act of any government or authority, fire, flood, lightning, explosion, interruption or failure of a utility service (including but not limited to electricity, gas, water or telecommunications), renovations undertaken by the hotel, strikes and all similar events outside our or the supplier(s) concerned’s control. Advice from the Foreign Office to avoid or leave a particular country may constitute Force Majeure.
If you fail to provide your correct email address and telephone number with country code, we cannot be held responsible for your failure to receive documents and messages concerning the status of your reservation. We reserve the right to cancel reservations when we are unable to contact you if necessary.
